What is Wild Dook Sauna?
Wild Dook Sauna is a mobile wellness experience that combines traditional sauna heat with the invigorating benefits of cold water therapy. Our handcrafted sauna, built inside a converted horsebox, travels to stunning locations across Dumfries and Galloway and beyond, offering a unique way to relax, recharge, and connect with nature.
How does the sauna work?
Our sauna is wood-fired, creating an authentic, deeply warming heat. The temperature inside typically ranges between 70-90°C, allowing for a relaxing yet invigorating experience. Guests have the option to alternate between the heat of the sauna and a cold water plunge or outdoor cool-down to boost circulation and enhance the benefits.
Booking & Sessions
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes, we recommend booking in advance to secure your spot. Our sauna operates on a session basis, and spaces can fill up quickly, especially at popular locations and events.
How long is a session?
A standard sauna session lasts 55 minutes, giving you plenty of time to enjoy multiple heat and cold cycles.
Can I book the sauna for private hire or events?
Absolutely! We offer private hire for special occasions, retreats, corporate events, and wellness gatherings. Contact us for availability and pricing.
Using the Sauna
What should I bring?

Can I use the sauna if I have health conditions?
Sauna bathing is generally safe for most people, but if you have any medical conditions (such as heart issues, low blood pressure, or are pregnant), please consult with your doctor before using the sauna.
Is cold water dipping required?
Not at all! While there is the option for cold water immersion alongside your sauna session to enhance the benefits, you can enjoy the sauna at your own pace and comfort level.
What is the purpose of the sauna hats?
Our sauna hats are made from natural wool and designed to protect your head from the intense heat while you enjoy the sauna. Wearing one helps regulate your body temperature, allowing you to stay in the heat comfortably for longer. They also keep your hair from drying out, practical and stylish!
